PALS (Personalized Alternative Learning System) is an innovative platform designed to support ALS learners through flexible, technology-driven, and personalized learning pathways. It helps learners prepare for the Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) assessment while meeting their individual learning needs.
2. Who can use PALS?
PALS is designed for marginalized groups and diverse learners such as out-of-school youth, working students, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), married people, and adults who want to continue their education and complete their secondary level.
3. How does PALS work?
PALS uses adaptive learning tools and neural network algorithms to create customized learning pathways. Learners can study at their own pace, strengthen their skills, and track progress toward their goals.
4. What subjects or skills can I learn through PALS?
PALS covers core subjects aligned with the ALS curriculum and the A&E assessment, including literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, digital literacy, life skills, and socio-cultural awareness and personal development. It also provides digital learning experiences to prepare learners for real-world applications.
5. Is PALS accessible anytime?
Yes! PALS is available online 24/7, so learners can access lessons anytime, anywhere—whether at home, at work, or on the go.
6. Do I need to pay to use PALS?
PALS is part of a research-based initiative developed for ALS learners. Access policies may depend on the implementing institution, but it is primarily designed to be inclusive and accessible to all.
7. How is PALS different from traditional learning?
Unlike traditional classrooms, PALS offers flexibility, personalization, and accessibility. ALS learners progress at their own pace and the system adapts to their needs, making education more engaging, effective, and efficient.
8. Will PALS help me prepare for the A&E assessment?
Yes! One of PALS’ main goals is to help ALS Junior level learners prepare for the Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) assessment, ensuring they are ready and confident to succeed.
9. Who developed PALS?
PALS was developed as part of a research study led by educators, researchers, and programmers from the University of the East, Rizal Technological University, and Lagro High School, together with QuinNova Tech Systems Inc.
10. How can I enroll or get started with PALS?
ALS learners can visit the nearest school that offers the Alternative Learning System program. Once admitted and registered, the ALS teacher will create an account for them, allowing learners to access the personalized learning system and begin their journey right away.
